- I am reading the latest PC Magazine. John C. Dvorak's article is about
- the situation with Apple. I will quote:
-
- "This whole lame situation reminds me of what happened to the Amiga.
- With a true multitasking GUI operation system, genuine stereo digital
- sound, and honest-to-gosh NTSC video, the machine remains amazing to
- this day. But its users as a group were mostly jerks. We'd get letters
- here at PC Magazine claiming that we didn't write about the Amiga, that
- what we said was wrong, or that we didn't get down and worship the
- machine properly."
-
- Now, I don't want you people to delude him with "flaming" e-mail. He is
- writing about his experience. From what we have read from some people
- on this group we know that people write that kind of stuff. What JCD
- hears is what he writes. We also know from this group that there are
- Mac and PC jerks as well. I wanted you to know what one of the most
- respected journalist in the industry thinks of the Amiga. I have been
- reading Johns writings on and off since the days of CP/M. How many of
- you even remember CP/M?
-
- About a month ago John wrote about what he believed was a conspiracy
- between Microsoft and IBM to do in Apple. He was very convincing. So,
- as I said, he writes what he hears, even if it is about MS and IBM.
-
- From what he said in this column it would appear that Apple is going
- down the same road that those two ass holes at C= took the Amiga down.
- It's really to bad. Even if you don't like the MAC, it is always bad
- when a company like that fails.
-
- I intend to write John an e-mail saying that we appreciate what he said
- about the Amiga, but that not all Amigans are jerks. I will also update
- him on the situation with the Amiga, although it's likely that he knows
- already. Hmmm, maybe he will write a column about it.
